An open call.
As we head into spring, it brings with it an intention to do fewer things, but to do them with greater thought. This extends to how we communicate. Messages today arrive in excess, often uninvited, and are easily overlooked. We have chosen instead to gather our updates into a single more deliberate correspondence, something we hope will be received with curiosity.
Our collaborations continue with those we have come to know over time. There is a particular value in relationships that are allowed to develop slowly, where familiarity creates the conditions for trust, and trust in turn allows ideas to deepen.
At the same time, we remain open to what is not yet known. New encounters carry their own possibilities, especially when shaped by a shared sensibility and a willingness to explore something untested.
Creativity, as we understand it, does not confine itself neatly within disciplines. It is often the result of wandering attention, of interests that overlap and inform one another in unexpected ways. Much of what we do is an attempt to give form to this way of thinking. It is an ongoing process of learning, adjusting, and trying.
If you find a natural affinity with what we are building, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you. Here are a number of current initiatives, alongside others that remain in states of consideration, awaiting the right time or the right company to take shape.
Weekend Markets
A community led initiative focus on bringing together makers, collectors and enthusiasts to exchange knowledge, ideas and trade.
Wee Hours
An invitation into the showroom after hours, when the pace softens and the space takes on a different tone. Evenings unfold through food, drink, and conversation, shaped as much by those present as by what is prepared.
After School Specials
Workshops set within a familiar, domestic rhythm focused on practical skills and gradual learning, offering a setting where one can return to the simple act of making and understanding.
Fringe
A series of explorations centred on the senses where each session attends to how we see, hear, taste, touch, or smell, encouraging a closer awareness of experiences often taken for granted.
Shopkeepers Program
An opportunity to inhabit the role of the shopkeeper where participants guide, share, or trade through their own interests over a defined period.
Space Rentals
Having the store to yourself for a couple of hours or an entire day(s) for commercial activations, private gatherings or marketing purpose.
Museum Gift Shop
A selection of objects and furnishings chosen for their clarity of design, purpose, and intent. Items are brand new and are available for purchase and wholesale.
Moving Units
An ongoing study of pre existing USM Haller systems where components are reconfigured through adjustments and manupilation resulting in semi-permanent arrangements.
