A Special Edition.

Four ceramic practices have been invited to create a special commission for the meditative act of scenting a space. The brief was deliberately left open, giving each maker room to interpret the incense holder in their own way. The resulting works will be produced in limited, numbered quantities, with no reproductions planned. Alongside these commissions, each practice will bring a selection of its own works to the market.

We spent a day in their studios, observing the hands behind the work.
The studio visits became something more meditative: a portrait of the gestures, rhythms and decisions that shape each piece.

The finished works share an unexpected commonality. Across the four practices, a similar tonality and palette of glazes emerged, though each maker arrived at it independently. The pieces vary in form and quantity, and, as with all ceramics, no two are quite alike. Each carries its own character, shaped by the material and the hands that worked it.

This is our first commission involving individual ceramic artists, and we are pleased to see how the brief has taken shape across four distinct practices. The works will be available from 7 November 2026, exclusively at Aa Furniture. Each is limited, numbered and made without plans for reproduction.

We hope you will join us for Bonfire Market 2026. There will be ceramics, of course, alongside growers and a range of furnishings on clearance.
