After School Specials: Typography Workshop
Death of Typography is committed to making type education accessible while deepening public understanding of its cultural significance. Through exhibitions, workshops and collaborations with industry, the collective has created a platform for designers and newcomers to engage with type as both craft and cultural practice. Led by Lee Qiu Wen, Sylvia Low and Wee Yen, it has become an important presence in Singapore’s design community, nurturing local talent and encouraging open dialogue around typography. No prior experience is required for this session, which emphasizes curiosity, observation and playful experimentation over technical expertise.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will contribute a handcrafted letter to a collective alphabet. The finished set will be printed in a 2026 calendar, an elegant keepsake that captures collaboration, creativity and the shared experience of discovering typography beyond the studio.
