Kungyokudo Incense - Roppongi 2007

Japanese incense has been used to purify, cleanse, and unwind for other a thousand years. During this time it has come to be seen as one of the highest quality incense varieties in the world.

In 1594, Riemon Ouno opened Kungyokudo directly across from the Hongwanji Temple in Kyoto to provide incense and medicine to the monks of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha Buddhist school. The incense house is currently led by his 22nd-generation descendant, Kazuo Ouno, and his wife, Chihaya Ouno.

Kungyokudo is the oldest incense producer in Japan.

Roppongi 2007 - The dense forests that weave through history, birds flying in and out of the waterside, and gardens decorated with seasonal flowers and grasses. As you walk along the path, your breath deepens and your mind and body soften. The light and refreshing fragrance is made from plants.
