In Rug Pursuit.
In Rug Pursuit follows the realities of sourcing vintage, tribal and nomadic rugs from the historic weaving regions of Türkiye and the Caucasus. The session brings you along with a curious rug enthusiast and merchant, learning about the rugs through the places, people and cultures that made them.
Rather than getting caught up in knot counts and academic terminology, the session looks at rugs as objects shaped by place, migration, tradition and use. Each visit brings together notes from the road, from unexpected encounters and negotiations to discoveries made along the way, alongside a selection of rugs sourced from each destination.
Carolyn Fu, founder of Micasa Fucasa, will share her experiences as a researcher, passionate collector and now rug merchant. Relatively new to the trade, Carolyn’s interest comes from years of collecting vintage tribal and village rugs from the Caucasus and Anatolia, particularly those carrying traces of migration, nature, tradition and symbolism.
Join Carolyn for Field Notes, Encounters & Discoveries on the Road on 17 October 2026. A trunk show will follow from 22 to 25 October 2026, with rugs available to view and purchase. Carolyn will be in store during regular showroom hours, although consultations by appointment are recommended.
