After School Specials: Tea Experience
Caffeine has a way of drawing people together. Whether brewed as coffee or steeped as tea, it anchors daily rituals across cultures. While many of us still greet the morning with coffee, tea offers a slower and more layered experience, one that invites deeper connection, contemplation, and an appreciation of time itself.

Tea’s story began in China during the Han dynasty, first valued as a medicinal elixir before becoming a cherished daily practice. From there it traveled with Buddhist monks to Japan where it blossomed into the meditative tea ceremony, and to Korea where it intertwined with Confucian traditions. By the 1600s, tea had reached Europe via Portuguese and Dutch traders, soon captivating Britain and reshaping global trade. In China, tea remains deeply woven into social life, with teahouses and regional rituals serving as spaces for conversation, hospitality, and shared heritage. Much like wine, tea reflects its terroir, with flavor shaped by soil, climate, altitude, and the age of the plants, while skilled hands transform each harvest into a singular expression of its origin.
For our upcoming After School Specials workshop, we welcome Jane Cai of Inner.teahouse for a guided tasting of three distinct teas. In a warm and inviting atmosphere, guests will engage their senses, seeing, smelling, and tasting, from the delicate contours of dry leaves to the evolving profiles of hot and cold brews.

Set within our showroom dining room, the 90 minute session offers more than just knowledge; it offers a moment to slow down. Whether you are new to tea or a seasoned enthusiast, this is an opportunity to savor flavor, connect with others, and rediscover the simple beauty of being present.
