Based in Kochi prefecture, Yamashita san has been making Tosa knives for the last 40 years. It started with the sperm whale when a mother requested for a knife with a blunt tip so her son could learn to sharpen his pencils. 

All Tosa whale knives have double-edged blades similar to traditional swords. Available in 6 styles, they can be used as letter openers, sharpening of pencils and a suitable size for a bartender.
