Maarten Van Severen was a Belgian designer known for his minimalist and highly disciplined approach to form and function. In 2005, shortly before his passing, he introduced the .06 chair with Vitra — a refined cantilevered lounge chair that exemplifies his philosophy.

Designed with a sleek stainless steel frame and a flexible seat shell made of integral polyurethane foam, the .06 offers both firmness and comfort. Internal leaf springs in the backrest allow it to subtly adapt to the sitter’s movements, merging ergonomic support with clean and uninterrupted lines.
